Hi, I'm Smuse! (Sarah, if we're being formal.)

I'm an artist, designer, and the founder of Smuse Creative. I split my time between helping businesses bring their brands to life through thoughtful design and building my own fine art practice.

My creative career has taken me from art galleries and the Smithsonian to agency life, freelance work, and leading brand strategy for a multibillion-dollar company. Along the way, I've worked across different corners of the creative industry, but making art has always been what I love most.

After more than a decade working in design, I decided it was time to make more room for that part of myself. These days, I'm using the skills and experience I've built as a designer to support my growing art practice, with the dream of one day making art full time. Whether I'm developing a brand identity, experimenting with a new painting subject, or sketching something that caught my eye, curiosity is at the heart of everything I do. I love bold color, thoughtful details, and creating work that makes everyday moments feel like magic.

When I'm not working or painting, you'll find me wandering through an art museum, hitting the gym, baking something sweet (balance!), or spending time outside with my husband and our dog. I believe a curious, colorful life makes for better creative work, and I'm doing my best to build just that.
